Dog Boarding Facilities

You enter through the breezeway into a large 4-season porch. This is where you'll have your breakfast and it's a nice place to just relax. The porch has a sink, fridge, microwave and toaster. There's an instant hot water dispenser so you can make yourself a cup of tea or soup at any time. Back to Top

The porch opens onto the large 16'x30' deck that overlooks some of the flower and vegetable gardens. Want to do some bird watching? Just sit still and soon the birds will arrive at the feeders. The deck faces west and you will be able to watch the sunset. And on those long, hot summer nights, you'll be amazed at the stars. We have very little ambient light to block the light of the stars. The Milky Way is right overhead! This photo was taken on 7/26/08 by one of the B&B's guests, Chris Choquette.   It's looking west from the deck and is spectacular!

From here, feel free to take a walk through our 15 acres of open and wooded land.
In the early morning or at dusk, if you're very still, you might catch a glimpse of the deer who visit us most days. Back to Top

ROOMS

Two spacious bedrooms are available, both with a Queen-sized bed, large closet, central air, ceiling fans and double windows. They share a modern, renovated bath.

Zachary's Room is painted in soothing earth tones, faces southwest so it catches the beautiful warm glow of the afternoon sunlight

Ariel's Room is a warm blue and faces east so you can watch the sunrise.

There's ample room for parking along the lengthy driveway and in front of the garages.

TV/Phones/Internet

We do not have TVs or Phones in the rooms, but if you feel like watching TV, just knock on our door and join us. And if you need to make a call, cell phone reception is good.

We're unable to provide wireless Internet access at this time.   Welcome to the boonies.  BUT - if you have a wireless card with your laptop, you can connect to the internet from here. We just tested it out and the speed is pretty good.

FYI - you can get wireless from several places in Watkins Glen and at the shop of my local computer repair guru, Stan: Fingerlakes Computer Medic on Route 28.  He said to feel free to park in front of his store and take advantage of his wi-fi.

Dog Boarding Facilities Nearby

We are sorry that we can't accomodate your dogs, but there are several good boarding facilities nearby.

I know the owners personally and they are located about 5 minutes from us.  Sandie and Gary Pappa do Chesapeake Dog Rescue and run a boarding and grooming facility. $10/day

I know Carrie.  This facility is located on the east side of Seneca Lake so it would be about a 30 minute drive from us.  She charges $14/day, has heated and air conditioned private kennels each of which leads to a covered dog run.  She also has a 1/2 acre fenced-in area that she uses for doggie play time.  She allows boarders to come and get their dogs at any time during the day.  Requires proof of rabies, distemper, bordatella vaccinations.

3.  Ryder K9 Kennels

I don't know the owner personally, but he's highly recommended by the President of the Schuyler Countyl Humane Society.  She said the facility is beautiful and the dogs are very well cared for.  This place is located 13 miles north west of me, near Keuka Lake and would probably be a 30 minute drive, at most.
